Happy Thanksgiving---A Meme
Promise

Hey,

I want to wish everyone in the United States on my f-list a Happy Thanksgiving. It's a holiday that sometimes gets lost in the shuffle of cooking and football and eating, but I thought we could remember what the holiday's also about: Being thankful. Sooo in the honor of the tradition of going around and saying what you're thankful for, why don't we do that here at LJ? Even those not in the US can join in if they like. I think it's a nice thing to do every so often, cause everyone needs to appreciate what they have. Share as many or as few things as you like, but at least post ONE thing you're thankful for. I'll go first.

First, I'm thankful for my family. They've helped me through everything and supported me. I'm thankful that everyone is in relative health, save a bad pancreas or two. I'm thankful that today they're all here getting the meal ready for the table so we can share it and enjoy each other's company. I'm hoping this will hold through the Christmas holiday as well.

I'm also thankful for my friends, on and offline. Without them, I think things would be a lot darker. Each one gives me something to laugh at with them, to talk about, and will listen when I have problems to help me through. And one of my friends just happens to be the best beta there is for putting up with all my craziness. I'm also thankful for all the friends I have met on LJ. Some of the coolest people I know are here and no matter what we're talking about or doing, we all give some support and listen. That's something to be thankful for!

I'm thankful for my pets. I know. Odd thing to say, huh? I have four cats...well only one is really mine. The other three chose two different people. My cat is ancient and blind. We suspect she's about 17 years or so, but I'm thankful for as old as she is, she's still active as hell running every day and in as much health as she can be at that age. She's my baby, well it is her name anyways, and she's more like a puppy dog than a cat. Then there IS the dog, our papillion, Cinnamon. She's like my little sister and is the smartest dog I know. I'd also say one of the prettiest, too.

I'm thankful for all my readers. I never imagined that a lot of people would ever read my story in the first place. I figured it was a bit obscure and weird, but hey, people liked it. That made me happy and I'm glad so many have stuck with it. Along with that, I'm thankful God gave me the discipline to write anything at all. I'm not sure if I'm "talented" but I know He gave me the drive to write my best and only put out my best effort for others to read. As long as I keep doing those things, hopefully it'll continue to be good!

And, because I'm a Minnesotan, I'm extremely thankful that today, on November 23, 2006, the temperature is a nice, warm 41 degrees and expected to be in the 50s. I've had blizzards and sub-zero temperatures on Thanksgiving, so it's nice when it's warm like this. Some of you might say 41 is cold, I say it's beautiful. THAT and we have NO snow on the ground. It'll hopefully keep accidents down!

And just one more thing, I'm thankful for the fact that I do have a home to live in, that I do have a job(even if it does make me want to pull my hair out sometimes), that I do have a little bit of money to buy some of the Christmas gifts I've been carefully thinking about, and that perhaps I can do something to help those less fortunate than me with some of it, too.

There, that's my thankful list. Some list, huh? I'd like to see what others on my list have to be thankful for. If you sit down and think about it, you might be surprised at what comes up!

Until next time and enjoy that turkey!

Happy Thanksgiving! And that's a great list. It is nice sometimes to focus on what we have to be grateful for, instead of dwelling on what isn't going so well. I'll have to think about it, and add it to my memeage for Thanksgiving.

ganked and added!

And thanks for another great review!

You're welcome. It was a fun chapter.

I noticed you commented on the amount of sex... This was the reunion that keeps on giving, though there is something of an explanation in the next chapter (which is in the hands of my beta, though it won't be posted for at least ten days or so - maybe a week from Sunday). Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Ah. I look forward to it. I'm sure it'll be good and hot.

I certainly hope so - I always worry about that.

"ganked" and added. I still have sooo much to learn about all these weird new slang terms. And its not just the Turkey, its the STUFFING! "Yeah,if you mean stuffing your face", says Shippo looking up at Inuyasha. The hanyou has his mouth stuffed with turkey and other Thanksgiving favorites which Kagome and her mom prepared. Distracted from dinner the hayou looks up confused and, around the mouthful of food, says "Whaf?". Kagome shakes her head and smiles, happy that he's eating her cooking instead of raman.

Shakes her head at Shippo. He shouldn't be so mean to Inuyasha, after all, we've seen him stuff his face just as much in the past. At least Inu could look enough to ask. . .I always figured Thanksgiving would be Inu's fave holiday, I mean, food and as much as you can eat of it, then sleep it off. What's not to like?
