Customer Assistance to the Women's Department, Please
Kagura Bored
Hey Reader,

Well, my first shift in the daytime wasn't too bad. It was just BORING as hell. I mean, it was klinda interesting to hear all the customer assistance calls and know it's not just one of the other overnighters being funny. Other than that, I was just bored out of my mind.

All I did was put some purses out and then straighten clothes up the rest of the time. I gotta admit, the folding table thing is kinda cool, but only like for the first four times. After that it's just boring. So for like six hours or whatever it was, I was bored and just wanted to go home. Truck nights are so much more interesting because there is something to DO. All night. You go to break with an idea of what you'll be doing when you get back, you go to lunch knowing what you have left to do, you get close to punch out time wondering if you'll end up staying late (if corporate has given the store those hours or someone didn't work or whatever), but there wasn't anything to really do in my day shift.

In other news, it looks like that White Christmas will hit me anyways. We shall see, because so far all we've had is regular rain, not really too much sleet or freezing rain let alone snow. We're expecting 3-6 inches, but we'll see. I wouldn't mind too much, save for the fact that it's kinda a pain in the ass to drive in and won't go away right after the holiday.

There's not much else to tell, except that I'm hoping to keep working on the chapter. . .

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

ah, the retail dayshift. my bf works at a pier1 and they go in at like 5 or 6 am to unload the trucks and have to hope that they get eveything settled before customers come in. it would be easier to have overnighters, but they decided they didn't want to have people round the clock. some how i never think that two hours is enough to move and unload before shoppers come barreling in.

Well, at least there wasn't any castrophes - no one fighting over the last item of something, you didn't drop anything on any body, and you got paid.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a white Christmas for you. Right now, I'm just hoping it quits raining so I can load up tomorrow and then drive home on Friday. I had originally planned to go tomorrow, but after two days of rain I haven't loadeda nything in the car, and i'm just plain tired. I'll get everything done tomorrow and be well-rested for the 8 hour drive on Friday.

And I hope your chapter continues to cooperate with you.

boredom in retail is so overrated...

We're having a white Christmas here for sure! Hell, we just got nearly 2 feet dumped on us!

Not to mention all the highways are closed as well as the airport...

That's what I get for moving to Colorado.

Re: White Christmas...

Hey, I live in Minnesota so snow is a way of life. . .it's odd that we haven't had any real significant snow this far into the season. . .

*sigh* Jealous . . . Looks like we won't be having a white xmas here in dublin. I'm holding out hope cos the temperature's just taken a further dip, but . . . Well, we'll see.

Ah yes, the wonders of the dayshift. HOW you didn't die from all the excitement is beyond me. XD
