Job Stuff and More
Manga Rin and Butterfly

Well, it looks like this "week off" from work might be beneficial after all. I applied for a job at Schwan's, their call center, just last night on a whim, and today I got a call for an interview. I am hoping that it will go well tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM. I'm not going to hold my breath and think I'll get a job out of it, but one can hope. I mean, after all, no matter how nice it's been working at ShopKo, this whole bit since Christmas where I get, it seems, a whole week off once a month, is just not working. I can't expect to cover all my bills on that, now can I?

I'm sort of anxious, partially because this job will entail a lot of phone work, but I figure I can handle it. I'm just not a huge fan of talking on the phone most of the time, but I can do it. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out, won't we? Perhaps then I'll make enough money to not worry about my damn bills too, too much. I'm almost done with them for this month, but still. It'd be nice to have them all out of the way and not worry about an overdraft or biting into the Anytime Credit I just finished paying off.

In other news, I have the first stanza of my song fic completed. We're on page five and have two more stanzas to go, so we'll see. So far I've liked what's appeared on the page after writing and re-writing it like six times, but hey. I just wish Sesshomaru would behave more. He's being an absolute pain about it for absolutely no reason other than because he can be one, I think. He'll pay for that dearly later on in Journey, I can guarantee you that. He'll be very, very sorry when I'm done. *wink*

Well, anyways, that's what's going on now. Just cross your fingers for that interview! And hey, if I don't get it, hopefully I'll get a few more hours at ShopKo, you know? Wouldn't that be nice. . .

Until next time,

Call centers aren't so bad if you can do inbound. I did that for awhile, and I didn't mind it when they called me, even if was to find someone for them to complain to. What I really hated was when I got put on outbound for a short time. Fortunately, that didn't last very long. It may seem wierd that I didn't mind total strangers calling me - I just didn't want to have to call them.

So I hope the interview goes well tomorrow, and that its regular hours and you get paid more.

And I'm really looking forward to your next chapter and your oneshot. I can't wait to see what you're going to do to Sesshomaru.

It'll be awhile before I get to torture Sesshomaru in Journey, but I have a very, very good torture in mind for his royal pain in the ass. IF he would just work with me, the one shot would be almost finished and I could get more Journey written up, but noooo. We're starting a new "arc" in the story in the next chapter, now that the one with Koga's pretty much wrapped up. And we'll be starting it with Sango. I should have known she didn't stand a chance against that attention whore Sesshomaru.

I think I'd start on Outbound calling. I've been interviewed for this particular job in the past, once on a similar application and then in a cattle call thing. They say you go through the outbound for awhile and eventually get promoted to in bound and the like. We shall see. I am also going to bring my resume in to my career services at the college and have them work with me to make it better so I can search for the "career" job, and not just the "I need money NOW" job.

Sango's just hard to write... I have a hard time getting into her. Sesshomaru is difficult, but I find him so interesting it's easier to get motivated by him.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed for you that everything goes well.

I usually don't have too much trouble writing him, either, but I have to take his character back to the beginning without the background I've built into him in Journey,so he's a bit harder to work with. I just hope the story will come off the way I want it to when I finish it.

I know what you mean. I spend so much time developing the characters in the longer fics, that's its hard to drop back to where they should be for the oneshots.

It's hard for me with Sess, especially, considering all the things that affected him in Journey due to Rin. I also have the difficulty of making Rin an adult in this one, something I've never done before. I just really hope it works!!

Oh, I'm sure you'll make it work. And it'll be really good when you do. I'm betting on it...

It took me roughly three days to get Rin's outfit in my mind and the way I wanted it, not to mention how she should sound. I'm gonna cross my fingers and just hope. My beta likes it thus far, so that's something.

Well, I'm looking forward to it. I'm trying to write this Sango/Miroku oneshot to go alone with the last oneshot, but it took an unexpected turn when Sango slapped her husband for knowing a little too much about how to please her. He's gotta spill the beans, now.

And I'm beat. I think I'm going to bed early tonight.

I'd say Miroku's gotten himself into a bit of trouble in your story, yes. I think there's two theories on our monk. Either he's had a lot of experience or he's just hot air and hasn't gotten very far with any ladies at all. I think it depends on the story and how you want to approach his character on which one you'll use, but hey.

So far Rin is just confusing our poor Demon Lord and he's sulking like crazy, cause he's damn good at it. He'll get to have some fun later on in it, even if it's not gonna be a lemon or anything. At that point, he'll just be glad she's talking to him.

Good Luck!!! Call centers generally suck (not that I've ever worked in one...), but you'll probably get more hours. Break a leg on that interview!

Oh.. and I'm looking forward to you torturing Lord Sesshomaru... :-) It's always so fun to see him squirm.

I do hope you get a better job soon; not having enough money for bills really really REALLY sucks. More good vibes and wishes sent your way!!

Well, I don't know if it'd be my "ideal" job, but a bit more steady than retail would be a bit nicer. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it goes. I am not all that expectant of getting it, though.

best of luck!! i just dropped an application to Borders bookstore, so hopefully i'll hear back from them. dicounts on manga and books are always a plus!

Well, I think it went okay, but I doubt I got it. They said the standard "You'll hear back on Monday or so" which I've heard before and means "you won't hear back at all" Oh well. I guess we'll have to see, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
