Well, I Shouldn't Have, But Did Anyway

Well, I ordered my monthly purchase, even though I probably shouldn't have. Damn coupon. I got my bank statement today, and found out that I only had $21.73 in the bank. Good thing I deposited $500 bucks on Friday, eh? I just couldn't help myself, though, considering I wanted to try the manga series Nikkie suggested. Her Majesty's Dog looks very interesting, so we'll see. Of course I got another volume of Ranma, too. I'll only have 28 more of those to get to have the whole set. But hey, at least I decided I just can't afford another Inuyasha DVD set for now. Oh well. I already know what July's purchase will be, on account of the latest Inuyasha volume being released. Perhaps in August I'll get another Kenshin volume. That first volume makes me want more, after all. We shall see.

Until next time,

I hope you enjoy it! I know what you mean.. about shouldn't have with manga. Smacks head.. okay.. so I bought some used copies of Inuyasha.. I plan on taking them apart so I can use the pages for refernces. And I see you have the craving for Kenshin! I so loved the Groin Injury scene. The next volume is a hoot as well! I really love how he looks so feminine being his usual self then when he gets angry he looks like a man!

I'm hoping I'll enjoy Her Majesty's Dog. The cover looks good and the description sounds interesting. It's at least worth looking into.

Kenshin's entertaining so far, and it's got a lot of layers to it. I'm gonna have to re-read through the first volume, cause it's like I feel like I missed something.

That is the beauty of Kenshin.. you always find something new to it! I didn't see the Groin injury until the third time I read it.... and I missed the Oro written in his mouth the second time..

I just started her majesty's dog, only have the 1st and 2nd manga but it seemed pretty ok. :D. I know the feeling $$ wise heh. Can't go into a book store w/ spending :/ lol

Well at least I know it's not horrible, lmao.

The third and fourth Volumes are also good.. Imagine them in the Beauty and the Beast play... *giggles* Does he say the words that will break his binding spell??

I'm happy because by the end of next week, I should have all six of the Trinity Blood DVDs in hand. I have the first two here, and then decided I should go ahead and get the next two, so I ordered those from Animovies (the price there seem reasonabloe after paying full price at Barnes and Noble - but I had a gift card to use). Then, I was fooling around on ebay (where I could find hardly any Trinity Blood last time I looked), and found great prices on the last two, so I bought them as well.

My InuYasha Profiles book came in on Friday, but Howl's Moving Castle was with it. I got through the first three profiles, and kept picking up Howl. It finally won and I just finished it (not a lot really - but I was out all day yesterday). It was very good and very different from the movie. I'm glad I saw the movie, first. I guess my next hunt will be for the novel Trinity Blood is supposed to be based on.

I'm wondering when they're going to put it out on Perfect Collection, or have they already done that with Trinity Blood?

I haven't decided if I'll get the Profile book. Nikkie has posted some interesting things about it, but I'm not sure if I want to invest in it unless it'll be worth it, like it'll give me some good information I didn't know already kind of worth it.

There is a DVD set and the collection I have for Trinity Blood doesn't say if it's the prefect or not.. Shrugs.. but it makes a picture on the spines if put together..

The last Trinity Blood was just released in April, so they probably will end up coming out with a set of some kind. I just wasn't patient enough to wait. It's put out by Animation like Fullmetal Alchemist is.

The profile book was only $10 and some change on Amazon. If you wait long enough, it'll probably show up on ebay.

lol! i think i have 0.39 in my account til friday. it's gotten so bad that i've taken to reading th new manga in the bookstore instead of buying them.

I wish I could read manga in the bookstore, lmao, but I live in a tiny town that does NOT sell it in any store. I have to order it all online.

I hate not having the money to buy manga and DVDs... We bought Spirited Away this weekend, mainly because I complained that we've bought several Miyazaki movies but not the one that started my interest in his work.

I'll be honest, I guilted him into it; I whined that when we'd bought Naussica, I'd really wanted to buy Spirited Away but he'd been on an "I want to buy something we've never even heard of before on a whim" kick and ignored me. Yeah, I got growled at. Lesson: guilt works, but at a price. Hubby doesn't like being "Painted as the bad guy."

Anyway, I got Howl's Moving Castle, the book, 2 weeks ago but haven't picked it up yet... I'm not sure how long I'm going to wait, but it might be a few more weeks.

I wish I could buy so much more than I do. I limit myself to that 20 bucks, and that's that. It's hard, but I just can't afford to splurge more than that without feeling guilty or getting into trouble.

Spirited Away was my first Miyazaki film, too. I've been meaning to get more of them, but alas, am poor and no one in town carries them soooooooo I have to order online for those, too. Shipping is added into my $20 a month, so it's usually about 15-16 all said and done, and then it takes nearly a month to arrive since I get the cheapest at "Media Mail." Sigh..

If only Paris Hilton had to pay everyone in America butt loads of money for clogging the airwaves with her stupidity and her in and out of jail crap. THEN I could buy ALL the anime I want.

I'm pretty fortunate that my husband feels the way he does about the "appropriation of media." My brother feels the same way, so I often get albums I want before they're "legally" available as well as some movies. We saw The 300 at his apartment several weeks ago. I see it as more of a safetly net, so I know that I like something before I pay hard earned money for it...

That and there are a few musicians that I enjoy musically, but can't stand as human beings, so refuse to give them any money.

I prefer to hold the comic or book I'm reading in my hand, but reading fanfiction has helped me change that a bit. I've read few different manga "books" which have been DLed for me but it's not quite the same. BTW, it's also very stange to realize hubby has been reading my little fanfiction using the browser on his phone.

I just read Howl's Moving Castle. Will you let us know how the second book is once you read it? I enjoyed the first one, but when I was ordering the second didn't sound like it had a lot in common with first, so I decided to wait until another day on it.
