Birthday Thanks
Manga Rin and Butterfly

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. It was a decent birthday (excluding the rude morning wake up call from work and the bill I had to pay). I got a nice butterfly necklace, and a really cool, antique pre-WWII Japanese jewelry box with a beautiful painting on the lid of it. It's really pretty, and my grandfather got it when he served in the Pacific during the war. I didn't even know he had it until I got it today, so that's cool too, rather than just some box my parents bought.

Now I just have to wait for KCDVD's back to school sale to decide what I want to buy for myself. . .although I am going to go to the RenFest again at the end of the month!

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

It sounds like it was a wonderful day after all, regardless of those [censored] calling you so early in the morning. I'm glad.

And what a treasure! To receive something with so much history to it! (I'd love to see a pic)

LJ is evil!! I couldn't leave a posting for you!

Happy Birthday!! (sorry it's the day after..) I'm still working on the piccies for you and hoping it'll be very soon for postings!

So very happy to hear you had a great day with the minor exception... Will you post piccies of the the box and necklace?

What a great gift! And glad to hear you had a nice birthday.

I ordered the last InuYasha Perfect Collection set before I left on vacation, even though they were on their break. Since I was going to be gone, it worked out so that it should arrive about the same time I did. Out of curiosity, I ordered the Vampire Hunter D movies with it. I remember one from cable, and it seems like it was pretty good (though at two in the morning, a lot of things do that aren't later) - but still, for like $8, I decided to give them a try. I guess if they ever have Bleach sets in English, I'll have to have those, but so far they only have the subbed ones. That would be okay, but I like to watch them both ways.

Anyway, hope everything is going okay for you - it sounds like its back to normal if they're calling you in to work again. And I'm afraid the only way you can avoid bills on your birthday is to have it fall on Sunday.

I've had both of the Vampire Hunter D movies for a while now. I love both, but then, I like dark, slightly creepy and very bloody. The first is... well, it's obvious it was done quite a few years ago. The second... The animation is beautiful, the character design is impressive and the dialogue is better than in the first. However, if you can keep from cracking up everytime the one vampier says "Chaaaarlotte", you're a better woman than I.

Happy belated birthday! I'm glad you had a good time. The box sounds really interesting and it's so sweet of your grandfather to give it to you.

Here's hoping the next year brings good things!
