Hey Reader,

It's been a good day today.  A little boring at times while I was at work, but overall pretty good. It's Mick Jagger's 63rd birthday and the radio delivered(Oh sure, I own almost all of the CDs and tapes and record, but sometimes it's nice to hear that song on the radio). They played THREE Stones songs while I was at work today, one I doubt has been played since, oh, maybe 1964. "I'm A King Bee" a cover blues song that appeared on their first album waaaaaaaay back in the day.

And even though they've announced the new tour dates for the States, and none of them are coming near Far Away Eyes, I'm still very, very excited! There is hope that they'll add another date or something and I'll get to see them again. One can dream, right?

I suppose that's enough Stones talk for the day. I spent a lot of today plotting out the rest of my one-shot, and I think it's going to come together really nice. After I watch Rock Star tonight, I'll be working on it until bed, and if things go well, I might have the rough draft finished by this weekend. Then I'll be able to send it off to my beta and you'll be able to read it while you wait for the next chapter.

I also spent some time mulling over the latest manga(I won't spoil you, except to say that Sesshomaru's mother has appeared), and the more I think about the way his mother looks, the way her hair is pulled back, she's a Phalene! They're technically Papillions, but their ears are dropped, while the Papillion's is erect. Just looking at that hair do of hers, though, she wears it just like if she had Phalene ears. I joked that Sesshomaru had a bit of Papillion in him(he licked his paw, he is terribly possessive over just about everything, and he has to have things JUST SO or he gets pissy. Sounds like the Pap I live with!)

Anyways, here's some photos of first a papillion and then a phalene:

Now you tell me what you think. I just think it's kind of funny, that's all. And that's my strange musing of the day.

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

PS: Update at 11:40 PM YAY! I have another page written on my one-shot! I am also into the second stanza of the song. I like how it is coming along in the rough draft portion. I also have nearly 1800 words at this point, ot including the lyrics. I really like how it is working with me. I promise once this one-shot has been finished, I will return to the next chapter of Journey. You know how muses are, though. They think they have the right to usurp at any time. Anyways, I will have to spend time working on the next portion of the one-shot on the way to the races tomorrow night. I don't know how much I'll get done in the car, but we'll see! I just can't wait to have it written and posted for you guys! All the boring work I do at work si paying off, because it really let me figure out exactly what I wanted to do with this particular story. Anyways, I'll let you know as soon as it's finished!

The only thing I never understood was how a moth was supposed to fly if its wings were bent over like that!

I have to admit, I have never thought of Sesshomaru as a Papillion I thought they both resembled giant cocker spaniels!

I've always thought that Sesshomaru looked kind of like an oversized Papillion or something along those lines in his dog form. The muzzle, the ears, the tail...it just has some Pap-like qualities, but then I have a Pap and I know that as little as they are, even Naraku'd run away if he got to close to one of their treats or toys or whatever they decided they OWNED. They're...well...possessive as hell.

I have heard, though, that Takahashi based their breed off the Akita and the Shiba Inu and perhaps a couple other dogs, but the way she's drawn them sometimes, I see so much Pap in them. Which I'm sure Sesshomaru would want to kill me for, but if you ask me, it's true. The favorite word of every Papillion is the word MINE. Mine, mine, mine, mine!

I think people are just guessing because those are both native Japanese breeds, but only InuYasha has prick ears like they do. Sesshomaru and Sess!Mom don't resemble those breeds at all.

See, that's what I always thought about that claim, too. I've heard it a few times, but I just don't know, especially when you look at Sess and his mother. They have this very elegant flair to their look that isn't the other two breeds. Inuyasha's the only one who has that, like you said. I have to wonder if she didn't look at a lot of dog breeds and throw them together until she got the look and feel she was looking for in the dogs she created. I still think she borrowed some of that look from the Papillion/Phalene. I guess we'll never truly know, though.

She probably tried InuYasha with lop ears and it just wasn't the same! LOL There's really no telling how she came up with them. Who knows if she'll ever give away any of her secretes.

Inuyasha would look absolutely ridiculous with dropped ears. It just wouldn't work. It does make me wonder how she came up with her character designs, though.

Yes, I agree with you in this matter... they're both adorable-ly cute like these piccies are... though I wouldn't ever mention that outloud..

The picture where they're both in dog form together, in the chapter before the last one, you can really see that. Sess has Pap-ears, which is funny to me. And I'm not scared of him! I'll say he looks like a Pap all I want.

I have a 7 pound pap. She's red and white and her name is Cinnamon. She'd kick Sesshomaru's ass ANY day. She's very possessive and tough when she wants to be!

Nah...wouldn't even be a good snack for my chow...

I know that our 26 lb cat does what ever she tells him to do. If she tinks he doesn't belong in a room, he's GONE. She can lay down the law when she wants to. Like they say about the small toy breeds, just cause they're small, doesn't mean a big dog doesn't live inside. Of course we're always watchign to make sure she doesn't get hurt by a big dog.

The funny thing about chow is that if confronted, they will usually just pretend the other dog isn't there. It's not that they are afraid, they just aren't worth the time and bother. And it is funny when they decide they'll play witha small dog because they will get down on their belly to get to their level. They are so funny and just a cool breed to live with.

My Pap was bit by a big dog a couple years ago, so she'd be terrified if a big dog tried to do that to her. It's one of the problems having a smaller dog, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. She knows she's the boss of the household, though. Otherwise, Cinnamon tends to ignore other dogs for the most part.
